Picking up my baby from her school on the way home, we were having the following conversation:
Daughter: Mom, I will be driving the car when I will grow up.
Me: Ok, baba. But, you need to eat healthy food, and listen to mommy to grow up.
Daughter: I listen to you.
Me: Yes baba, you listen to me. Just, sometimes you don’t. Like, when I say you to eat properly.
Daughter: Hm … Mamma, when will I grow up? Very soon, or very late?
Daughter: Mamma, have you grown up?
Me: Yes. Um … no, no. I haven’t still grown up. I am your baby. You are my Mamma. So, I am still a baby.
Daughter: (Giggling) What are you saying? You look like a grown up! And, I am your baby.
Me: No, no. I am your baby.
Daughter: No, no! I am your baby.
Me: Nooo, noooo. I am your baby. I call you mamma, and baba. So, you are my mom, and dad. And, I am your baby.
Daughter: Ok, baby. Then, what you want to be when you will grow up?
Me: (Thoughtful) I want to be your Mamma. Always.
Daughter: But, you are my babyyy!!!
Me: Mamma too!
Daughter: But, what will you do becoming a Mamma?! I will be grown up then. Only babies need Mamma.
Me: You will be my baby forever.
Daughter: But, you said that I will be growing up soon!
Me: Yes, you will be. Still, you will be my baby forever.
Daughter: Aw! Hm … (starts singing the rhyme) Wheels on the bus go round, and round/ Round, and round, all through the town …
… Yes, wheels on the bus go round, and round, all through the town. Wheels on the life go round, and round too. It keeps going, and going. In the mean time, so many phases – difficult, or easy, happy, or sad – come, and go. In the eternal flow of mortal life, people confront, and conform so many different things in one life. People have to go through a lot of changes. Season changes, time changes, climate changes, law changes, people themselves change, civilization changes, the world changes. But, one thing never changes. The motherhood.
Motherhood – an immortal attribute of mortal lives.
